Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a cult tv series that lasted from March 10, 1997 till May 20, 2003. The series follows the life of Buffy Anne Summers,your typical perky high-schooler who also happens to be the latest in a line of young women chosen to battle against the forces of evil. Evil that takes the very physical form of vampires, demons and other monsters. Like all slayers, Buffy is aided by a Watcher who guides and trains her. She departs from tradition by surrounding herself with a tight group of friends, who become known as the 'Scooby Gang'.
The series started off with a later tone, but became darker as the seasons passed. The cast also tackled regular teen problems as well as battling demons - kind of like a 90210 but with vampires. Throughout it all, the show enjoyed crisp writing and great chemistry between the cast. Playing the lead role, Sarah-Michelle Gellar carried off the part of the part of the high-school teenager who is also a demonic slayer with a great confidence and very watchable charisma.
